Hey guys :)
ROWYSO has well and truly began and so in today's post I will be giving you some ideas of things that you might want to bring with you in your handbag to your concert. (This will not include what you might want to bring if you are going stalking during the day, if you would be interested in a post like that, let me know.)
I'm not saying that what I put in this post is exactly what you must bring with you or anything like that, I'm simply giving you some ideas and tips that I've learnt from experience and some of them you might not ever have thought of or you you could even use this post as a checklist type thing for when you come to packing your bag. Anyway, let's get into it.
First and foremost you will without a doubt absolutely NEED your tickets. You might be thinking "well duh of course I'll bring my ticket!" but don't be fooled my friend, there have been several occasions where I have been half way to the arena and I've left my tickets over an hour away at my house. It's such a nuisance when you forget your tickets because it means you have to turn and go back, cutting your time back and you could maybe not get a park, not have time for food (there's always time for food, pfft!) or even miss the beginning of the concert depending on how far you live from the arena! So the lesson here today is BRING YOUR TICKETS. Pack them first so you don't forget and double check before leaving your house that you have them.
Next would be to bring money with you. You always will need money when going to a concert, it's an essential. Obviously if you are looking to buy merch when you are there to commemorate the occasion then you'll need money for that because unfortunately you can't pay with how many followers you have on twitter. Also, if you have to wait like an hour or so before the support act or in between the support act and 5SOS you might (in my case, will defiantly) get hungry. The cost of snacks at a concert are ridiculously overpriced. Seriously though it's like hello I need to eat or I will die of starvation please can you just like give me a chocolate bar for less that £2.50 thank you. Even for a bottle of water it costs like an arm and a leg and of course they take off the bottle cap (at my venue anyway) if you bring your own drink so you have to throw your drink away otherwise you'll spill it everywhere so you end up having to buy a drink at the stand anyways. Rant over.
You'll also need money for after if you need to get a taxi/cab/bus/train/donkey to get home or to a hotel and sometimes they can be expensive as well. Gosh why aren't things free? All in all, considering I don't know how much things cost in other cities, roughly I bring around £50 with me to a concert (you don't need to bring that much if you don't plan on buying merch or getting transport home. So bring what you think you'll need but it's always better to have more than you need.)
That's basically the essentials you're gonna need - money and tickets (and obviously your phone and a camera if you want) but of course we all over pack and if you are like me you over think every situation so I will quickly write some other things I bring and a brief description why (I know I can waffle on)
- Gum or mints - you will get dry throat during the concert and your breath will smell bad. That is a fact. You will need some kind of mint e.g tic tac or polo's etc.
- Small perfume or spray - again if you are dancing, jumping around and all that kinda stuff you will obviously sweat (unless you're like Jesus and you don't sweat) you'll want to spray a bit just to stay fresh.
- A pen and small notepad - if some type of miracle happens and you get to meet 5SOS after the show/at their hotel etc you might want to get them to sign something like your phone case or a piece of paper and then bam you'll have a pen for them to do that.
- Plasters/blister pads - If you are wearing new shoes or any shoes that you know might cut you or give you blisters from standing/dancing all night then you will need these for the journey home to take care of your tootsies.
- Hair clips/hair ties - Even if you are wearing your hair down at the beginning of the night, you could get too warm and want to throw your hair up half way through. Or someone around you might want to - it's good to be prepared.
- Lipstick/gloss - If you are like me and you sing along during concerts or eat (oops) then your lipstick/gloss will wear away during the night and you will want to top it up just incase you magically get brought backstage after the concert, duh (insert sassy emoji)
I hope this helped some of you out with what to bring to the 5SOS concert and if I left anything out, which I probably did, then tweet me @5SOSFamDerpCon and I can RT and then it will help more people - yay!
If you are going to the concert tonight or this week or soon or anytime really then have an amazing time and I am so excited to stay up and watch a live stream or something of the tour tonight so I can die even more at the fact I'm seeing them soon and that they've began their headline arena tour like what is happening??
Anyways, until next time (I could be updating more since tour has started)
Lots of love,
@5SOSFamDerpCon
Hey, so first of all, where do you think I could find the serlist for the concert? I'm going to the one on the 21st. Secondly, how long do you think a concert roughly takes? I'm not the one driving and I've never been to a concert so I don't know what to expect (Fyi I'm wearing a ninja turtles shirt :) )
