DerpCon Winner - France (@Fan2fr)

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing great! :)

Another DerpCon winner was announced and it was for the Fan2 France competition, so congratulations to Moniek ( @Supermoniek ) who is 15 years old :)

This competition (in my opinion!) has been the longest and most complex of them all as there were 3 stages in which you had to go through in order to win! The first stage was to send in a picture of yourself as a superhero, out of which 100 people were chosen to go through to the second stage.

In the second stage you had to make a parody of the chorus of the lyrics from She Looks So Perfect and from this 50 people of the 100 were selected for the 3rd and final round which was to create a video of why you should go to DerpCon and why you are their number 1 fan. Out of the 50 finalists, 5 videos were chosen and then 5SOS chose the winner themselves.

When Moniek got DMed by Fan2fr she told me; "I didn't expect it at all, I thought someone else would win!"

She goes on; "I felt like crying and shaking. The first thing I did was called my best friend and then my mom and then my dad!

On when she was contacted to say she had won, Moniek said; "I was outside of school and I turned on my mobile data and saw the DM, I still can't believe it. I still think something will happen and I won't be able to go." Hopefully that doesn't happen!!

Moniek has never met or saw the boys before but is going to their 2015 tour :)

DerpCon Winner - Portugal

A new DerpCon winner has been announced and it is for the Portugal competition! The lucky winner is 17 year old Rita ( @ARitaSilveira ) 

On what she had to do to win, Rita explained to me; "I had to make a video in 5 Seconds showing them why I really wanted to go to DerpCon."

When Rita was contacted to say that she had won she tells me that; "I wasn't expecting it because I thought I didn't have any opportunity of winning!"

She goes on to say, "I was in school when they called and I was shaking so much, I almost fainted!"

Rita also told me that she has never saw them live before or met them because they had to cancel their opening act for WWA tour in Portgual, so she is so excited to finally see them live as well as go to DerpCon!

On how she is feeling now about winning, Rita tells me; "I still can't believe it I am really nervous, I have never felt like this before."

Congratulations to Rita, a very deserving winner! I hope you enjoy yourself in LA at DerpCon!

DerpCon Winner - Australia (Bump Show)

As you all probably are aware, the lucky Australian winners were contacted by 5SOS themselves on Monday 13th October and I was able to get in contact with one of the lucky three Australian DerpCon winners.

Her name is Marli (@marlibermingham ) and she is 15 years old. 

Marli entered the Australian 'fancam' competition online. On how she was contacted she says; 

"When I got the call I didn't think it was them! I was too shocked to even talk and I was a crying mess!"

Marli tells me that she has been lucky enough to see 5SOS in concert before but has never actually met them.

Overall, on winning the competition Marli says that; "I am over the moon, this is too good to be true! I can't talk to anyone without shaking and crying!"

Lucky Marli will be joining the other DerpCon winners in LA in just under a months time!

DerpCon Winner - Argentina

Sorry that it has taken me so long to update this however I am back with a whole lot of DerpCon excitement! So, the winner for Argentina was announced and thankfully I was able to get in contact with her to share her excitement! :D

The winner was lucky 20 year old Agustina ( @ilikegordon ) She explains what she had to do to win; "To win I had to write a letter explaining why I should be the winner, what 5sos meant to me and also send pictures of my superhero."

On how she was contacted to say that she had won Agustina says, "I was contacted by a call. I was just watching a movie with my best friend, who I am taking with me. I almost didn't answer the call!" (Which would have been awful!!)

"When they told me I had won I cried. I was on public radio and I cried! It was the most amazing feeling in the world!"

Agustina told me that when she hung up the phone she cried and screamed and her throat started to bleed! If that doesn't show how much 5SOS mean to her, I really don't know what would!

On how she feels now that she has won, Agustina says; "I still can't believe it! This is the best thing that has ever happened to me! The boys mean everything to me and I just can't believe that I am going to be able to meet them and see them live!"

DerpCon Winner - UK (Capital FM)

Capital FM was the 3rd UK competition and with that 2 winners were selected. This week I was able to get in contact with one of the winners, Sophie 

( @sophiekphilips ) who is 19 years old.

Capital FM announced the competition and of course, a lot of interest was taken in this competition as a lot of people from the UK are fans of the boys. For this competition you had to text 'WIN' to a number and you could only enter 10 times. 

Sophie explains to me what happened when she got the call to say she had won "I got the call at half 11 at night just as I was falling asleep! They told me I had one and I started screaming and crying and shaking!"

Imagine getting a call at that time of night saying you were going to DerpCon, I would properly freak out!! 

On winning Sophie said "I feel so amazing and lucky, this is insane."

That pretty much sums it up, it is insane.

Congratulations Sophie!!

Out of everyone who entered Sophie was the chosen one to attend DerpCon which is getting ever so close now and I can't wait for the rest of the winners to be announced as well! :D

DerpCon Winner - UK (4Music)

We finally have a UK winner for the 4music DerpCon competition and the lucky winner is Ellie (@altnialls) who is 16 years old. 

The competition for this was no doubt tough but lucky Ellie explained to me what all she had to do in order to win this amazing prize! 

"We had to post a photo of us 'derping about' or with our 5SOS stuff so I posted a picture with all my 5SOS cd's, vinyls and posters.."

"When 4music contacted me through DM, I was sat with my mum watching TFIOS and I was just like 'OH MY GOD' I started shaking and freaking out so much!"

I saw so many entries for this competition and I just want to say well done to Ellie, a deserving winner!

Ellie told me how she feels about the whole thing; "I still don't believe it, like it is so surreal." 

Ellie said she is taking her friend who is also a 5SOS fan along with her Dad, who I bet is really excited! haha 

DerpCon is getting closer and a lot of winners are starting to be announced, so if you entered any of them GOOD LUCK! :D

DerpCon Winner - Singapore

Singapore chose it's winners for DerpCon recently and the winners are lucky Randi (ranisashark) aged 22 and she will be taking her friend Terryin (terrxtard) aged 18.

The initial entry that Singapore had to do was create a superhero power and costume and submit it with a picture or video via Instagram with the hashtag #987derpconsg. After this 20 entries were shortlisted for mall auditions at the mall called VivoCity.

At the mall auditions Randi explains to me "We had 1 minute to explain our superhero power through either a skit,dance,song or anything to impress the judges who were 987fm radio DJs. We also had to be dressed in our superhero costumes that we had created."


Randi then explains to me what her and her friends superhero costumes inspiration was: "We went with a space themed costume, which we handmade ourselves. We became the 'Galactic Defenders' as we were inspired by the photos of nebula the band were posting before the announcement of DerpCon and also everyday heroes such as astronauts and the police."

For their actual costume, Randi told me; "We had the idea of using jetpacks instead of capes for our superheros as it went with the space theme. I then also designed a NASA inspired 5SOS logo for our costumes as well."

"For our mall audition we put on a short sketch, and somehow we made it to the top 3!" You can really see how much effort the girls have put in to their costumes!!


After this round the top 3 entrants were selected for the final which was a Q&A round. The question that was asked was "In what year was 5SOS formed?"

"I got the question correct and the other 2 girls did not get it right so I won!" Randi explains.


She also tells me "It feels so surreal, I am still in awe that I have won!"
